Student Support

Ensuring our students enjoy a rich and engaging school experience for all.

The Talmud Torah Student Support Program is committed to ensuring that all of our students enjoy a rich and engaging school experience. We provide in-school support, as well as outside referrals, to those who are struggling socially and/or emotionally. Working closely with administration, teachers and parents, the Student Services Coordinator identifies students who need additional psychosocial support, designs and implements intervention plans to meet their needs, and assists families in finding outside resources when necessary.

Our program offers in-class workshops, small socialization groups, and short term individual coaching for students who are struggling emotionally, socially and or behaviourally. Our socialization groups are an integral part of student life at Talmud Torah, and are led by the Student Services Coordinator, who has over 10 years’ experience in the field. These informal and fun filled groups offer students the opportunity to meet with peers to strengthen friendships, improve communication skills, develop conflict resolution strategies, and improve self-regulation via open ended discussions, games and role-play. The Student Services Coordinator also provides hands-on socialization support during recess time.
