Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist plays an important role in the operation of the school. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of employment including recruitment, retention, payroll, benefits, pension, leaves of absence, etc. Working closely with faculty, staff and administrators, the HR Generalist will ensure compliance with all government policies and regulations. She/he will contribute to the creation of a positive working environment for all employees and develop programs that will contribute to their overall wellness.


Function and Responsibilities:


  • Administration related to staffing, compensation, contracts, reference and police checks, vacation periods, maternity leaves, leaves of absence, etc.
  • Oversee and execute payroll related tasks 
  • Prepare various reports related to payroll ex. U.I.C., Insurance, ROE, year end reports (Vacations, Bank of Hours)


Staff Engagement

  • Develop, draft and plan processes related to the implementation of the recruitment and retention activities and projects.
  • Development and implementation of staff orientation related to human resources
  • Review and development of HR policies which reflect government requirements
  • Provide professional expertise and advice on HR policies and procedures as they relate to the mission and values of the school.
  • Assist with all internal and external HR related inquiries or requests regarding employees relations, recruitment, health and safety and benefits.
  • Maintain personnel files to comply with organizational and provincial requirements
  • Understand, interpret, and apply the collective agreement
  • Compile periodic HR reports such as a payroll change summary, leave summary, headcount, new hires, attrition
  • Develop an onboard checklist for new hires
  • Promote a positive health, safety, and environment culture

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant university degree
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the field of HR combined with experience in payroll processing
  • Ability to identify and lead HR-related projects and initiatives
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with internal and external contacts.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Experience working in a school environment and/or unionized environment would be an asset. 
  • High level of integrity
  • Sound judgment in resolving issues
  • Excellent software skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • A collaborative team player committed to developing themselves and others

Level 1 IT Support Technician

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Provide first line technical support to school staff and teachers
  • Conduct regular inspection and maintenance on IT endpoint equipment
  • Maintain equipment carts and deliver equipment as required
  • Assess and troubleshoot problems with endpoint equipment
  • Manage distribution of WIFI access and codes and connectivity
  • Manage distribution of equipment peripherals and supplies
  • Maintain inventory of IT equipment
  • Manage equipment repairs and RMAs
  • Liaison with 3rd party providers for specialized support
  • Have the physical ability to carry, shelve and relocate IT equipment  
  • COVID-19 considerations: Mandatory mask and disinfection of all surfaces inside the school building. 

Skills and experience:

  • Possess a DEC in computer and networking support, or equivalent certifications
  • Have hands-on experience providing level 1 end-user IT support
  • Have experience with a wide range of technology – Windows, Apple, Chrome, printers, etc.
  • Have strong communication skills in English and French
  • Be a self-starter and capable of working and researching independently
  • Have good time management, triage, and organizational skills

Work Hour requirements:

  • Onsite at school campus Monday through Friday from 7:45AM to 4:15PM
  • Be present at after-school functions where required
  • Be prepared to work after-hours in the event of IT urgencies
  • Two weeks vacation per year

Resource Department Coordinator

Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Coordinate and supervise all implemented services and programs and resource personnel.
  • Evaluate resource department staff
  • Support teachers: manage the support to be put in place
  • Meet with staff to monitor students’ academic progress
  • Follow up regularly with the principals of both schools
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings (challenging students)

Intervention Plan

  • Develop and monitor administrative intervention plans
  • Supervise all intervention plans assigned to resource persons
  • Oversee the orthopedic evaluations of students
  • Meet with all future parents to open a file (special needs or other)
  • Declare challenging students via Charlemagne
  • Manage student files in collaboration with the directors


  • Set up a detailed list of accommodations for each student in the resource department. Update this list as needed and share it with teachers.
  • During exams or departmental tests, ensure that each student in the department receives the prescribed accommodations


  • Meet with students who have challenges
  • Oversee after-school support

  • Reporting to the Minister


  • Allocate the department budget: purchase of materials and other needs. Have the budget approved by the directors.
