Michelle Toledano

Head of School

Michelle Toledano has been involved in Jewish Education for the past 29 years. She has a BA in Psychology and a Bachelor and Masters in Education. She taught English and Math for 17 years before joining our school in 2006. As an administrator at Herzliah, Mrs. Toledano worked with Secondary I and II students. She later became Principal of the Beutel Talmud Torah Campus located in Ville St. Laurent. During her tenure, she oversaw the successful consolidation of the two elementary schools unifying all under one roof on the Snowdon Campus. Her vision and leadership continues to bring together families and staff, creating the beautiful and unique mosaic that makes up Azrieli-Talmud Torah.

Michelle Toledano is the new Head of School at the Azrieli Schools of Talmud Torah and Herzliah High, effective July 1, 2020.

“Bonjour Mme Toledano” is the greeting that is affectionately called out by our students whenever they see her throughout the school.

Osnat Bitton

Osnat Bitton

Director of Students

Osnat Bitton has been an integral part of the Azrieli-Talmud Torah family for over 20 years. Her passion for education drew her to our Shorashim program where she worked with children with special needs. She later took on the role of Assistant Principal, continuing her work with children and helping guide them through their social and emotional development.

In her current role as Director of Students, Osnat continues to devote her time and passion to Talmud Torah School community, ensuring the well-being and success of all students.

Arielle Medalsy

Director of Studies

Ms. Medalsy has been at Talmud Torah for the past five years and has a Bachelors of Education. In her role as the Director of Studies, Arielle Medalsy ensures that our Talmud Torah students are proficient in French and ready to graduate from elementary school with their French Langue Maternelle certificate. Beyond the classroom, Mme Arielle has a strong commitment to promoting and supporting student academic achievement through the arts and co-curricular involvement. Her strong commitment coupled with her incredible energy are the perfect combination to ensure that our students not only learn, but also have fun in the process.

Mme Arielle brings all of creativity and enthusiasm to the highly anticipated Grade 5 musical that she co-directs with English coordinator, Ryan Issenman. Over the past few years, the duo has brought Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Fiddler on the Roof and Beauty and The Beast to centre stage with a Broadway like quality.

Karen Gazith

Karen Gazith

Academic Dean

Dr. Karen Gazith has served as the Dean of Academics at Les écoles Azrieli Schools for the past six years. Dr. Gazith has worked with our teachers to deliver a curriculum based upon a revolutionary Challenge-Based Learning model of teaching.

Prior to her time at our schools, Dr. Gazith worked at Federation CJA as the Interim Executive Director of the Bronfman Jewish Education Center and Director of Education for over 18 years. Her career began at Hebrew Academy where she worked for 13 years as the director of their resource program. She is a Faculty Lecturer at McGill University’s Department of Education and Counselling Psychology.

Dr. Gazith is the author of The Mindful and Purposeful Teacher.

Zehavit Meltzer

Jewish Studies Coordinator

Zehavit Meltzer has over 20 years of experience working in Jewish Day Schools and seven years in overnight Jewish camp.

She has been part of the Talmud Torah family for the past five years. Zehavit completed a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at McGill University and is currently pursuing the iCenter’s Graduate Certificate in Israel Education at the George Washington University. Zehavit is the recipient of the Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for Excellence in Jewish Education in 2013 and the Dr. Mildred Burns Award for Leadership in Education in 2017. Zehavit believes in bringing the spirit of camp to our school by incorporating Jewish experiential learning in the daily lives of the students. She is committed to providing students of all ages with opportunities to connect to their Jewish identity, Eretz Israel and Am Israel through Formal and Informal Jewish Education.

Sarah Suissa

Resource Services Coordinator

Sarah Suissa Wolf is a Talmud Torah and Herzliah alumna and has been on staff at Talmud Torah since 2014. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education at Concordia University in 2015 and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Orthopédagogie at Université du Québec à Montréal.

Mme. Sarah focuses on student success, ensuring that those students who need it can benefit from reinforcement and enrichment in various subjects, She prioritizes students success, helping them become confident learners as they continue their education. Her generous and compassionate nature allows ensures an instant connection with students and community. Mme. Sarah is very creative and quick to join into school life activities – her Purim costumes are eagerly awaited each year.

Frederique Roy

Frederique Roy

Student Services Coordinator

Frederique has been part of the Azrieli-Talmud Torah school community since 2012. She first joined the ATT team as a school worker, and in 2015 she became the Student Services Coordinator. Holding a BFA in Art Education and an MA in Creative Arts Therapy, Frederique brings creativity and a holistic approach to her collaborative work with students and their families.

With over 15 years experience leading workshops and socialization groups, as well as offering individualized support to children and adults in schools, hospitals and community centres throughout the city, Frederique is dedicated to helping ATT students achieve their full potential.
