GALIT SUISSA ANTEBI was born in Israel and raised in France. She graduated from Bar Ilan University with an undergraduate degree in the humanities. Galit has been an active community leader, serving on the Board of the CPE-CCJ, and as a member of the “Family Matters” Committee at Solomon Schechter Academy. Galit was Chair of the Sephardic Campaign for Federation CJA in 2008-09, and went on to co-chair a number of other CJA committees and fundraising events. In 2011 she chaired the Migdal Ohr Gala to raise money for Israeli orphans. She also lent her support to the Communauté Sepharade du Quebec (CSUQ), helping families in need, and to the Libi Committee in support of Israeli soldiers. Galit is committed to helping people live their best lives. She has studied several modalities of alternative practices and is currently studying hypnotherapy. She is deeply motivated to help people heal and grow and her true passion is to empower people and bring more Love and compassion into the world. Galit is passionate about Israel, the Montreal Jewish community and Jewish education. She and her husband, Joseph Antebi, are parents to 3 current Herzliah students.

GREGORY AZANCOT ’81 ’86 is a graduate of l’Université de Montréal law school and an attorney in private practice for over twenty years as the founding partner of Azancot & Associates Inc. He is active on a variety of Quebec and Montreal Bar Association Committees and is currently a Board member of the Lord Reading Law Society. Greg was both a member and president of the Board of Directors of the CPE-CCJ for several years. He is highly involved in minor hockey as a certified coach, high-level referee and member is a member of various committees, namely the Ethics and Governance Committee.  Greg has two children attending Herzliah.

STEEVE AZOULAY ’90 ’95 is a graduate of l’Université de Montréal with a degree in Law. He is currently the Director Public Affairs & Communications at Pharmascience. With over 13 years of combined experience in law, government, communications, stakeholder relations and nonprofit management, he’s had the opportunity to work in both the private and public sectors. Steeve has been actively involved with many organizations in the Jewish community both in a volunteer and professional capacity. He is also a proud graduate of U.T.T and Herzliah. Steeve and his wife Jessica have three young children, one already a student at Talmud Torah.

MONICA MENDEL BENSOUSSAN ’82 [Immediate Past Chair] is a graduate of Herzliah High School, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the CJA Leadership Development program and the Wexner Heritage Program. She has devoted over twenty years to promoting Jewish identity among youth and advancing the cause of Jewish education in Montreal. An active community leader, Monica has served on the Board of Directors of the Akiva School, the Association of Jewish Day Schools, and Talmud Torah | Herzliah, as well as several community-wide committees focused on Jewish day school sustainability and educational excellence. Monica co-chaired the Federation CJA Campaign 2000 launch, and led a community task force that examined attrition in the Jewish day school system, subsequently developing recommendations to reverse this trend. She was the founding president of the Akiva School Parent Association, editor of the school yearbook, and chair of its corresponding fundraising campaign.

Monica serves on both the Fundraising and Marketing Committees. As vice president of the Board of Directors, 2008 to 2010, she undertook the preparations for the consolidation of the Beutel and Snowdon campuses. Monica served as the chairperson of the Transition Committee whose mandate it was to ease the physical and emotional consolidation of the schools. Under her leadership as the school’s Head of School Search Committee, a seasoned Head of School was secured to lead Talmud Torah | Herzliah. Monica recently completed her second term as President of the Board of Directors of Talmud Torah | Herzliah. Under her leadership, the school obtained full CAIS accreditation, renewal of its government permit, increased its fundraising tenfold and signed an agreement with the YM YWHA to build a new Herzliah building. She is currently the chair of this transformational building project.

ALEXANDRA OBADIA CIOCILTEU [Vice-President] is Chief Executive Officer of CARTaGENE. She holds graduate degrees in law and biotechnology, specializing in the fields of biomedical law and bioethics. An attorney with twenty-five years’ experience, Alexandra’s expertise covers legal and ethical issues related to privacy, governance, commercialization and access to sensitive information. As an executive, she has also developed extensive knowledge relating to management of operations, budgets  and human resources. A mother of two students attending Herzliah, Alexandra is committed to contributing to the development of her children’s schools. She has served as Vice-President of the Board of Directors of CPE-CCJ during a five-year period of significant governance and financial changes. Alexandra currently serves as Vice-President of the Talmud Torah | Herzliah Board of Directors.

DR. ISABELLE DANINO is a graduate from the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire de Maisons-Alfort (Paris), and holds a degree in bioethics. Since the family moved from France to Canada 9 years ago, she is widely involved in the community, through Akiva School and Federation CJA; she also sits at the Shaar Hashomayim Board. She and her husband Alain are parents of four children, three are attending Herzliah and one at Akiva school.

AVIVA ORENSTEIN-KALIN ’91 graduated from University of Michigan with an Masters in Social Work majoring in Nonprofit Management and a dual certificate in Jewish Communal Service and Judaic Studies. After working in fundraising and community development at UJA Federation in Toronto and later as Director of the Jewish Community Centre and Federation in London, Ontario, she returned to Montreal to raise her growing family. She is currently CEO of GMF Santé Kildare and serves on the Board of MADA and Maison Shalom. Aviva’s parents met at UTT/Herzliah. She and her husband, Michael Kalin, have six children including 2 current Herzliah students.

HOWARD LOHNER [Treasurer] is a graduate of McGill University and a practicing Chartered Professional Accountant specializing in tax, assurance and business advisory services for owner-managed corporations. Immediately prior to joining the Board of Directors of Talmud Torah | Herzliah, Howard was president of Agence Ometz. He continues to sit on its Board of Directors. Howard is a graduate of the Wexner Heritage Program and the Federation CJA Leadership Development program. Howard is married to Dana Zinman and has three children, one recent graduate of Herzliah, one currently attending and one at Akiva school.

RYAN RABINOVITCH ’97 [Ex-officio] completed a one-year study program at Israel’s Hebrew University before returning to Montreal to enrol in Engineering studies at McGill University. Ryan later transferred to the Faculty of Law where he was awarded the Aime Geoffrion Gold Medal upon graduation. He has clerked for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Israel, and at the Supreme Court of Canada. He also completed a graduate degree in law at Oxford University before embarking on his legal career. Ryan is currently a partner at the firm of McCarthy Tetrault, practicing in their taxation department. His practice encompasses all areas of tax planning and litigation. Ryan has been a member of the Talmud Torah | Herzliah Board of Directors for five years, including two as Secretary, before assuming the position of ex-officio advisor. Ryan is married and lives with his wife and son in Montreal.

PAULINE GRUNBERG ROSENBERG holds an undergraduate degree in psychology from McGill University, and graduate degrees in both institutional administration and education from Concordia University and McGill respectively. Her career includes experience in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Social Services. A staunch community advocate, Pauline has served on the Board of Directors of Hebrew Foundation School, Just For Kids Foundation, The Abe Gold Learning and Research Center, and Talmud Torah | Herzliah. Pauline is married to Mitchell Rosenberg ’80 and is the mother of three Herzliah graduates. The importance of Jewish education was instilled in Pauline at an early age by her own parents and she strives to pass these values on to the next generation.

MARLENE GROSSMAN-RUTENBERG holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Psychology) from Concordia University and a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from McGill University. She worked for almost 20 years in a secondary school working with students with varied learning challenges. Currently working as a Psychology teacher at Vanier College and past Coordinator of the Explorations Program, she is involved in research with Dawson College and John Abbott College to further best institutional practices and best teaching practices. Marlene has served in many past positions on the Board of Directors and Parents’ Association at Hebrew Foundation School.She and her husband, Rodney Rutenberg, have one son at Herzliah in Secondary IV and a daughter in second year at CEGEP.

MALLARY SACKMAN SEGALL joined the Communications Department of AJCS (now Federation CJA) after graduating from McGill University, and later the Campaign Department where she was responsible for revamping Super Sunday, staffing multiple campaign divisions, and planning and coordinating most major events. After twelve years at Federation CJA, Mallary was appointed Executive Director of the Montreal Chapter of the Canadian Associates of Ben-Gurion University, a position she held for nine years. She is a member of MAZON Canada’s annual Montreal fundraising event committee, its Quebec Allocations Committee, and its National Board. Mallary’s commitment to the Jewish community was sparked by a mission to Israel at age nineteen; since then she has been a steadfast believer in the value of Jewish education. She and her husband, Mark Segall, have three children, including Herzliah and Bialik graduates as well as a current Herzliah student.

OURIEL SOUDRY ’90, ’95 is a graduate of John Molson School of Business and a practicing Chartered Professional Accountant for the last 15 years. Ouriel is an audit partner at PSB Boisjoli where he helps his clients navigate and keep apace of new and ever-changing accounting, assurance, and taxation standards. Ouriel participated in both the CSUQ Leadership Program and the Federation CJA’s Leadership Development Program. Ouriel and his wife Michaela, an active member of the Home and School, have three young children. As an alumni of both Talmud Torah and Herzliah, he is committed to the long-term viability and success of both institutions.

BERNARD LÉVY-SOUSSAN graduated from Sherbrooke University with a Law degree. Bernard worked for over 15 years at Nazem, Lévy-Soussan, Lauzon, and Ratelle. He acted as Crown Attorney for both the city of Saint-Laurent and Montreal from 1993 to 2011 prosecuting criminal and statutory infractions. In 2011, Bernard founded Ticket911.ca a law firm specializing in defending traffic violations and criminal charges related to driving in Quebec, Ontario and New-York State. He is currently the President of Ticket911. Bernard has been actively implicated in the Jewish Community for the last 20 years, acting as member of various boards, as well as vice-president and president of C.S.V.S.L. and Petah-Tikva. He is currently a member of the Governing Board of Petah Tikva and the Communauté Sépharade Unifiée du Québec (CSUQ).  He has been awarded numerous distinctions for his involvement in non profit organizations in the last 20 years. Bernard and his wife Laurence Acoca, a notary and title attorney, have three young children, two attending Talmud Torah and a third to follow.

TANYA TOLEDANO ’88 is the founder of MontrealMom.com Inc. and TRACK-B Communications. A noted blogger and marketing strategist, Tanya is a regular contributor to a wide range of media outlets, from The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs to MatzoBlogSoup.com. When she isn’t consulting with corporate clients or growing her ever-popular “MontrealMom” website, Tanya can be seen on “Breakfast Television Montreal,” and on her very own YouTube channel. She is a law graduate, a cookbook editor, a foodie and a serial volunteer who is well known for turning vision into reality. A strong believer in the importance of Jewish Education, Tanya has served on the Board of Directors of both Hebrew Foundation School and its CPE. She and her husband, Ron, are parents to three Herzliah students and one additional hopeful.

ADAM WEINSTOCK ’92 ’97 [Board Chair] is a graduate of both Talmud Torah and Herzliah. He went onto study at Marianopolis College and then graduated from McGill University with a degree in Economics and a double minor in Management and Political Science. Adam has spent over a decade on the TT||Herz Board of Directors and has served in every capacity on the Executive Committee. Adam also serves on the Board of Directors of the United Talmud Torahs of Montreal Foundation and the Association of Jewish Days Schools. In the past, he has been a Director of the Donald Berman Maimonides Geriatric Centre Foundation and has served on several committees at Federation CJA. Adam is a graduate of Federation CJA’s Leadership Development Program. Professionally, Adam is a Portfolio Manager & Senior Wealth Advisor with Scotia Wealth Management where he manages investment portfolios for personal, corporate and pension plan clients. Having worked in wealth management for over fifteen years, he is widely regarded as an expert in the field. Adam and his wife Melanie, a fellow Montreal Jewish day school graduate, have three young children – all future graduates of the Montreal Jewish day school system!

DAVID ZAFRANI holds an undergraduate degree in Engineering and an MBA from McGill University. His professional experience is in the Project Management and Architectural Design fields.  He has extensive community experience having been president of Or Shalom and is presently president of Garderie Or Maimonide, member of the board of A.S.B.O.M., member of the CJA building committee and is actively involved in other community construction projects.  David participated in the CJA Leadership Program and was instrumental in the real estate development and construction of the Or Shalom Synagogue and day care center. In volunteering for various organizations, David’s goal is to ensure the vitality and future of the Montreal Jewish community.

LIONEL SOUSSAN ’90 graduated from Herzliah and continued his studies at McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science). He is currently Vice President of Phidal Publishing, Inc. with offices in several countries. Lionel is also a co-founder of En famille – a grass-roots charitable foundation that works in conjunction with the Jewish General Hospital and helps families coping with cancer. He has also volunteered and worked with many Jewish community organizations. Lionel and his wife Anna have 3 children – the eldest who will attend Herzliah in 2018.
